CCHR believes that radio is an effective and powerful medium that can be used to raise awareness and increase understanding of, and respect for, universal human rights throughout Cambodia. Broadcasting is an effective way of reaching a broader audience, raising awareness of issues affecting people throughout the country, engaging more people in the democratic process and providing information on human rights issues, land law and peaceful ways to advocate to resolve conflicts and human rights violations. It has been estimated that the 5 radio stations CCHR uses combined have a potential audience of up to 85% of the Cambodian population. CCHR broadcast on the following stations daily:
 CCHR broadcasts include recordings of CCHR facilitated round table discussion, National Land Policy Forum together with legal commentary on salient issues, Live human rights radio program and Analysis of the Week, and also broadcast all of its press releases and media alerts.
Recordings once aired are also made available on this website, where you can download them, or listen to them online.
Programs broadcast by radio station by day of the week:
 * The Community Hearings and Public Forum shows are broadcast live on Saturdays and Sundays.

Business and Human Rights in Practice in Garment Sector

| The purpose of the radio talk show is to discuss issues of practice of human rights and human rights violations by businesses in the garment sector in Cambodia. A female trade unioin leader and a female president of Cambodian Alliance for Trade Unions discussed their experiences in dealing with these issues in garment sector. |

Recent acid attack demonstrates lack of progress on the implementation of Acid Law

| According to a 24 December 2012 article in the Phnom Penh Post Newspaper (“Acid death may test law”) a woman died after being the victim of a cruel acid attack in Sihanoukville. The victim, Kruy Aing Chheng, was a 20-year-old card dealer in a casino in Sihanoukville. She was attacked on the night of 21 December 2012, during which acid was poured on her head and into her mouth. She died from her injuries after being brought to a hospital in Phnom Penh. Her boyfriend, who is wanted for questioning by the authorities, has since then fled. |

| On Friday 21, 2012, the project to promote women’s political representation in Cambodia (IKAT), a part of CCHR hosted a radio talk show on topic “gender and politic” discussed by Ms. Prok Vanny, the project local consultant of the project, at Beehive FM 105 MHz. In the first part of the talk, the definition of Gender, the role of gender in politics’ has been discussed by the speaker. At the second part of discussion, there were several callers called in to give their opinion to support women participation, one of whom suggested having an outreach activity on “women’s political representation” for university students. |
