| CCHR’s Hotline Report in 2012 and Human Rights Chronology |
| Human Rights Portal – Sithi Project on 2013-02-08 in Beehive Radio FM 105 MHz |
| CCHR’s hotline was launched in December, 2007 in order to provide a channel or network for our Cambodians nationwide to call for reporting human rights violations within their community. The received cases were being scrutinized and referred to other relevant NGOs so as to find solutions or seek intervention to the case. In 2012 alone, we received 1,312 calls. Of the referred calls among 1,312, 26% were related to land issues, 20% were related to physical and/or sexual assault, and 10% concerned migrant workers.
Human rights chronology is a new work of research for CCHR’s Sithi Project. The chronology related to key human rights violations was released on 10 December, 2012 in celebration of the 64th International Human Rights Day. The chronology covers the period from the adoption of the Constitution of Cambodia in 1993 to 10 December, 2012. According to the research data, extra-judicial executions, assassinations of figures, and land were rife while restrictions on freedom of expression are prevalent. |
