CCHR invited to meeting with Ministry of Interior, 10 October 2011

On the afternoon of 6 October 2011, the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR) received a call from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) requesting our presence at a meeting the following day at the office of the MoI. The meeting was proposed following a letter that was submitted by CCHR to the MoI concerning difficulties we have recently encountered in trying to conduct human rights training events in Kampong Thom province.
Cambodia: NGOs threatened and intimidated for holding human rights training

Lim Savuth, a seminar organiser with CCHR, said commune chief Chhoy Mab and police tried to prevent Tuesday’s forum and after failing to do so they monitored it closely. The commune chief returned yesterday morning with more police and attempted to stop the seminar again, he said.
